]]> We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday, 28 March, BIS students, Aleksa V. and Roman L. were qualified for a renowned running competition “Speed to the Stars” organised by the City of Belgrade. They proudly represented BIS and the Municipality of Savski venac with their sporting attitude and skill. Aleksa  reached the semi-final but did not qualify for the final race. We wish them all the success in the upcoming competitions.

]]> On Monday, 14 March, the city competition “Brzinom do zvezda” (Speed to the Stars) was held at the Athletic Hall which hosted 110 schools from 17 Belgrade municipalities.

Our students Elena V. and Stefan M. were among 245 children that qualified for this renowned competition. They proudly represented our school and the Municipality of Savski venac with their speed and sporting attitude.

Congratulations to Elena i Stefan and we wish them all the success in the upcoming competitions.

]]> We are proud to announce that the BIS students have achieved remarkable results at the recent Belgrade schools Speed to the Stars.

Aleksa in Year 5 was the fastest boy and Elena in Year 6 took second place in the girls’ race. Stefan in Year 6 also qualified for the next phase of the competition which will be held in March 2022 at the Kombank Arena.

The BIS is very proud of the students and pleased with their results!

]]> We are proud to announce that two of our Year 5 students, Elena V. and Stefan M., competed in the final race Speed to the Stars. The race was held on 9 June in the Athletic Court on Banjica. 216 boys and girls from 14 Belgrade municipalities competed in a 50 meter sprinting.

Through the qualifications, the fastest 16 boys and 16 girls were selected to compete with 225 boys and girls from 26 cities in Serbia in the Telenor super finale. Our students did not qualify for the rest of the competition, but the BIS is very pleased with their high score.

]]> Speed to the Stars is a joint project organized by Telenor company and the Serbian Athletic Union. The idea behind the project is to familiarize the children with the healthy lifestyle that will contribute to their development and growing up. The sprinting competition (30 to 40 meters) was organized for Year 4 Primary school students (equivalent to Years 5 and 6 at the BIS). The goal of the competition is to test the children, to exercise and have fun. At the same time, this promotes the development of the basic sport, athletics and healthy lifestyle.

The project started in April and apart from the Municipality of Savski venac where the BIS is located, students from 16 Belgrade municipalities and 26 cities in Serbia took part in the competition.

The last competition in the 7th cycle for the Belgrade municipalities was held on 2 June at the Belgrade Waterfront open sports court. The Municipality of Savski venac, together with the Savski venac Sports Union was an excellent host and provided outstanding organization. All Primary schools within Savski venac municipality took part and the BIS was a special guest. In total, 118 students competed and the fastest 16 of them – 8 girls and 8 boys, were sent to the finals.

We are proud to announce that two of our students, Elena V. and Stefan M., qualified for the final sprint which will be held on 8 June at the Athletic Hall on Banjica.
