Last Wednesday, our students proudly represented BIS at the Savski Venac Sports Fair, held at the Belgrade Waterfront courts.

Competing against students from ten schools, our Key Stage 2 team delivered an outstanding performance, securing聽1st place聽in both the聽Dodgeball听补苍诲听Games Without Borders competitions.

Our Year 9/10 boys also demonstrated excellent skill in the聽3脳3 basketball tournament, finishing in聽4th place, narrowly missing out on the bronze medal.

We congratulate all our students for their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We are proud of your achievements and look forward to even greater success in future competitions.

BIS remains the only BSO and COBIS-accredited school in Serbia.

]]> The students of our school participated in the sports event “Youth Sports Games”. The event was organized by the municipality of Savski venac, in cooperation with the municipality sports association.

The competition was held at the sports ground of the Belgrade Waterfront. Students from eight primary schools competed in the sprint race and in the Dodgeball game.

Our school was represented by the students from Years 2, 3 and 4. To our great pleasure the boys and girls from Year 3 won third place and bronze medals in the Dodgeball game.

]]> The BIS young athletes accomplished a great success at the 鈥淪ports Fair 2022鈥 held on Friday, 16th September 2022 organized by Savski venac Municipality and Sports Association of Savski venac.

The BIS students had a great time competing with their peers from six other schools from the municipality. We are proud of our students as they took part in several disciplines such as 鈥淪peed to Stars鈥, Junior Olympics as well as football, basketball, strength and endurance competition, chess and table tennis and accomplished excellent results. A big 鈥渂ravo鈥 for Aleksa Vukovi膰 from Year 6, who won the first place and a golden medal in the 鈥淪peed to Stars鈥 discipline. He was one of the fastest boys in the competition and thus qualified for the City Competition. Besides Aleksa the qualification for the City competition was also accomplished by Roman Lazovic from Year 5 who won the fifth place.

The Year 2 students who participated in Junior Olympics won a very good third place and bronze medals whereas the students from Year 7 beat their peers from Primary School 鈥淩adojka Lakic鈥 and qualified for the municipality football semi-finals.

Great results were also achieved by Year 10 boys and girls who won the second place in the 鈥淪trength and Endurance competition鈥.

The BIS talented chess players, Vuk Samard啪i膰 from Year 9 and Nonna Kristasatiryan from Year 6 won the second and the third place respectively.

]]> Speed to the Stars is a joint project organized by Telenor company and the Serbian Athletic Union. The idea behind the project is to familiarize the children with the healthy lifestyle that will contribute to their development and growing up. The sprinting competition (30 to 40 meters) was organized for Year 4 Primary school students (equivalent to Years 5 and 6 at the BIS). The goal of the competition is to test the children, to exercise and have fun. At the same time, this promotes the development of the basic sport, athletics and healthy lifestyle.

The project started in April and apart from the Municipality of Savski venac where the BIS is located, students from 16 Belgrade municipalities and 26 cities in Serbia took part in the competition.

The last competition in the 7th cycle for the Belgrade municipalities was held on 2 June at the Belgrade Waterfront open sports court. The Municipality of Savski venac, together with the Savski venac Sports Union was an excellent host and provided outstanding organization. All Primary schools within Savski venac municipality took part and the BIS was a special guest. In total, 118 students competed and the fastest 16 of them – 8 girls and 8 boys, were sent to the finals.

We are proud to announce that two of our students, Elena V. and Stefan M., qualified for the final sprint which will be held on 8 June at the Athletic Hall on Banjica.
