]]> Last Friday at BIS Primary was very spooky. The school halls were full of vampires, witches, ghosts and other frightening creatures. Our students came into school dressed up in their scariest costumes and brought the Halloween spirit to BIS.
In the afternoon, it was time for our annual costume competition. The assembly hall was fully transformed to welcome our little BIS ghouls so that they could all see each other’s costumes and celebrate together.
The BIS cooking club was very busy all week making some very tasty (and healthy) cookies that were given out as prizes to our costume winners.
For the first time, we held a pumpkin competition for the teachers and put their carving skills to the test.
Thank you to all the parents and students who put so much effort into making such creative and terrifying costumes.

]]> This year Primary students were greeted by a spooky atmosphere with pumpkins, decorations and creepy music. The students and many of the teachers looked amazing in a wide variety of scary and inventive costumes. Their faces were painted and they were ready for the fierce but friendly competition for the winners of the costume competition. Everyone had lots of fun dancing and eating before they went home with happy although scary faces.

We look forward to next year’s event and would like to thank all parents and students for making such a fantastic effort with their costumes as usual.

]]> Some of the BIS Primary students were awarded trophies today for their accomplishment at the November Numeracy Challenge. The most successful Key Stage 1 class was Year 2M, and the most successful Key Stage 2 class was Year 6D. Individual trophies were given out to students in Years 2, 5 and 6.

We are looking forward to the participation of BIS students in future online competitions.

]]> After a lot of preparation and many weeks of hard work, on Thursday 5th December, the largest amount of Primary students in the history of BIS performed their annual production, ‘Mary Poppins.’ In our new venue the Vlada Divljan theatre, the audience was transported back in time to 1910 Edwardian London. Although nervous, the students were filled with excitement as the day of the production had finally come.

At 6 pm, it was time, the show started and what a show it was! This years’ performance was of an extremely high quality and included lovely singing, energetic dances and fantastic acting. The students and staff had all worked extremely hard to produce such a good production and it was enjoyed by all. Well done to everybody involved and thank you to the parents for their support.
