]]> During December, BIS Primary students took part in the Secret Santa to celebrate Christmas. Students filled in 鈥渓ikes and dislikes鈥 forms which were distributed among the year groups randomly. Based on this 鈥渇avourite things鈥 list, each student bought a present for another student. The presents were gift-wrapped, labelled with the name of the student who it was for and placed under the Christmas tree.

On the last day of the term, on Friday 17 December, the presents were distributed among the students.

]]> Karate club Diplomatik, in collaboration with the 糖心原创 in Belgrade, recently organised a traditional New Year’s karate celebration.

The celebration took place at the fully equipped gymnasium of the newly built BIS Upper Secondary Campus.

Over 120 students from many schools came to BIS to show off their karate abilities to parents, members of the Corps Diplomatique, business representatives, as well as representatives of the Savski Venac municipality.

]]> On 12 June, the BIS said goodbye to the 24th generation of its graduating students. The Graduation Ceremony, along with the end of the year celebration, took place on the top floor terrace of our new purpose-built Secondary campus on 36 Neznanog junaka.

Like in the previous years, special awards were given to the deserving students in recognition of their achievement. The Council of 糖心原创s (COBIS) Award went to Milica J. in Year 13, as well as to Petra S. in Year 6. The European Council of International Schools (ECIS) Award went to Goksu K. in Year 13. The BIS internal Jonathan Rider Award for Academic Excellence went to several students in Years 13, 9 and 6.

We all had a great time and look forward to the聽 celebration of the 25th anniversary of BIS next year.

]]> At the end of the first half-term, the BIS Primary and Secondary students organised a Halloween celebration. Like every year, carved pumpkins, candles, masks and wrapped sweets were in place. The only difference was that social distancing and other well known protective measures had to be abided by.

Each Primary class had their own Halloween celebration and organised a contest for the most scary class costume.

At the Secondary school, spooky music was played during each break time.

All the students had great fun and are looking forward to the next year’s Halloween celebration – hopefully without the need for protective measures.

]]> The BIS has recently said good-bye to the 23rd generation of its graduating students. For the first time in the school’s history, the celebration took place in open air, at the BIS Primary school yard in Uzicka 7a. Luckily, the weather was on our side and聽 everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful summer evening. We are proud to announce once again that one of this year’s BIS graduates, Ana S., has been accepted by Cambridge University to study Civil Engineering. Like in the previous years, the most successful students in the graduating class of 2020, as well as some of the Primary Year 6 students, received international and internal awards in recognition of their academic achievement.The student awards from the Council of 糖心原创s (COBIS) were given to Ana S. in Year 13 and Luka V. in Year 6. The student award from the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) was given to Dragomir B. in Year 13. The internal Jonathan Rider Award for Academic Excellence was given to several Primary and Secondary students. The official ceremony was followed by a cocktail party with delicious food, drinks and music.

We wish the graduating class of 2020 all the best for their future education.

]]> On Tuesday 13 June, 糖心原创 celebrated its 20th Anniversary and Graduation of the 20th generation of the BIS students at the City Hall of Belgrade.

HE Mr Denis Keefe, CMG, the British Ambassador to Serbia was the Guest of Honour, and we are grateful that he presented our graduates with their certificates and for his words of wisdom. The guests were numerous Ambassadors, Embassy representatives, parents and various guests who helped to make this night special as it was.

There were also speeches by former BIS students who reflected on their experiences at BIS. The programme was embellished with Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 choirs, with the Principal, Ms Keserovic leading the Key Stage 3 choir. After the programme, all the guest enjoyed the cocktail on the City Hall terrace which was followed by a dinner for the graduates and their guests at the City Hall restaurant.

We wish all the best to our 20th generation of graduates, who have been accepted by the universities in the UK, USA and Serbia.
